Why EFR certification?

EFR is one of the world’s leading CPR, AED, and first aid training organizations, with instructors in over 180 countries. All EFR courses follow the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) guidelines — the global gold standard for resuscitation and emergency care — and are aligned with leading bodies such as the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council.

EFR’s training method is learner-centered, combining step-by-step skill development, hands-on practice, and realistic scenarios. The goal is to ensure participants leave not just knowing what to do, but confident they can do it under pressure. Certifications are internationally recognized and valid for two years.

Help Without Fear

With EFR training, you act within your skills and under the Good Samaritan Law — meaning you’re protected when you step in to save a life.

Bonus! Every EFR course includes a free 1-hour workshop (condensed) at the end of the training.

Participants can choose either for:

  • Specialised First Aid for Thailand session - covering local risks such as tropical illnesses, heat-related emergencies, and common environmental hazards.

  • First Aid in the Wild – Key outdoor survival and hazard response skills.

  • Mental Health First Aid – Recognising and responding to mental health crises.

Thai First Aid Law & Why Certification Matters

Under Thailand’s Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act (B.E. 2554 [2011]) and the Labor Protection Act (B.E. 2541 [1998]), employers are legally required to ensure first aid readiness in the workplace—which includes providing first aid kits, appointing trained personnel, and offering first aid training. These standards have been further refined through Ministerial Regulations.

Based on the Royal Gazette regulations issued 26 September 2023 and the Ministerial Regulation on First Aid Equipment and First Aid Personnel in Workplaces B.E. 2566 (2023) under the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Act, Thailand has introduced updated national standards for first aid training and workplace preparedness.

Key requirements now in force:

  • Official certification – Only training that meets government-approved standards and is delivered by accredited providers qualifies a person as an official first aid responder.

  • Workplace obligations – Certain workplaces must have trained personnel on-site at all times. The law sets minimum first aid kit contents, staff-to-responder ratios, and refresher training intervals to remain compliant.

  • Certification standards – First aid personnel must hold valid certificates from training providers approved by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, following ILCOR-aligned, evidence-based guidelines.

  • Regular refreshers – Employers must ensure first aiders refresh their training periodically to maintain competency.

  • Wide applicability – The law applies to offices, schools, factories, hotels, construction sites, and more. Non-compliance can lead to fines, rectification orders, or even suspension of operations.

First Aid Training Samui provides training in first aid and emergency response skills. While our workshops and courses are designed to prepare participants to respond in emergencies, completion does not guarantee specific outcomes in real-life situations.
